#289 – Northern Rough-winged Swallow

Identified a few of these for the the first time along with some Barn Swallows.  Not too sure what insects were emerging on this pond when its only 38 degrees outside, but they were feeding off of something.

Flocking Swallows

Encountered this flock of Tree Swallows with a couple Barn Swallows mixed in down at the Lake Michigan today.  While normally these guys are difficult to photograph, this flock seemed quite content to hang out in the sun on a cold spring morning.

#278 Little Owl

While pulling in to our cottage in the Alentejo District, we spied two Little Owls.  Apparently, they’re quite common in open, pastoral settings in Southern Europe.
